About 50 rod/reel combinations were supplied,some heavy duty sea rods, short and stiff, but mostly beautifully classical split cane Salmon and Trout fly rods, elegant 3 piece constructions of split cane tied with silk and copper wire, with agate rings up 15 feet in length, and stunning reels of brass, ebonite, and nickel silver. Also a selection of wicker creels, bags, photos and prints, fish plates, baits, figurines and books.
Suggestions were given as to the suitability of tackle to the different locations, either by the sea or near a local salmon or coarse fishing river, and the tackle was carefully assembled and labelled to enable easy distribution to the different branches.
The equipment will be on hire for two months from Salcombe to Norwich to Harrogate to Cheltenham.
